I discovered this doctor and his products earlier this year when my 15-year-old Yorkie Lucy tore her CCL and needed surgery. His emails were a valuable resource in helping us get through recovery successfully, and she is now basically running around as she did before the injury. In the days after surgery doing my research, I discovered Dr. James. I immediately started Lucy and my other two senior dogs on his GlycanAid HA and Flexerna Omega supplements. They helped each of them tremendously and I will keep them on maintenance doses for the rest of their lives.
I assumed that all was fine, but this morning I noticed one of them was acting differently. Lola (14-year-old Chihuahua) just stood still and kept staring at me, as if she were trying to tell me something. I’m so grateful I was able to look at her symptoms up in my new kindle purchase of “Dogs Don’t Cry”. What perfect timing. Reading this book showed me that she has started exhibiting two new major signs of pain.
Lola has had so many problems, but she is stoic and never really shows that something is wrong. She has been on arthritis medicine, has luxated patellas, is on meds for Cushing’s, and meds for her heart. She is allergic to tramadol, so we have tried other things for pain. The GlycanAid HA really made a difference to her, and for months now she has actually started running again. During this time I have been diligently taking her to various specialists for all of her health problems and thought all was fine.
If I hadn’t read this book today, I just would have chalked it up to her being extra stiff this morning. Now I know that we probably need to tweak her pain treatment. I just called and made an appointment to take her in for a new evaluation, and if necessary will tweak her meds so I can keep her pain-free for as long as possible.
Thank you, Dr. James, and Top Dog Health for all you do. You truly make a difference in the lives of both pets and their owners.
